“Scythian Diana”

The sculpture “Scythian Diana” by Peter Antipas is a monumental composition of bronze and granite, combining elegance of form with deep symbolism. The image is inspired by Scythian ideas about female power and patronage, combined with the ancient symbolism of the Roman goddess of the hunt.

Diana appears as the patroness of hunters and protector of nature, combining the traits of a fearless warrior and a caring mentor.

Sculptor Petro Antip recreated Diana with a spear in her hands and accompanied by a dog, a faithful symbol of hunting skill and loyalty. This duet emphasizes her power over natural and military elements.

The plastic language of the work has clear and geometric silhouette lines, a distinct texture of the material, which enhances the feeling of grandeur and steadfastness.

The sculpture not only honors the multifaceted image of the goddess, but also visually reinterprets ancient myths and legends, weaving them into the modern cultural space.
