“Salamanders”

Bohdan Korzh's realistic bronze sculpture "Salamanders" depicts two fiery salamanders drinking water from an amphora bowl. The shape of the bowl repeats the outlines of the coat of arms of the "Derenivska Kupela".

The image was created based on the author's observations of a living salamander, its plastic movements and behavior. The original model was made of clay, later cast in bronze.

The fire salamander, or spotted salamander, is the largest representative of tailed amphibians in Ukraine, up to 35 cm long. It has a characteristic color: a black body with bright yellow spots. In the Carpathians, the salamander can be seen mainly in beech and spruce forests, including near the reservoirs of the complex in spring.

Thus, the sculpture "Salamander" combines the realism of natural observations with a symbolic form, emphasizing the unity of nature, culture, and space of the "Derenivska Kupel".
