“A look at the sky”

"Looking into the Sky" is a sculpture by Oleksandr Dyachenko, depicting a figure of a man with long hair, sitting on a quadrangular prism and raising his face upwards, as if gazing into the heavenly distance. The shape of the figure echoes archaic images of steppe stone women, but presented in a modern way.

Despite the weight of the material, the sculpture is perceived as light and relaxed. The calm pose conveys a state of concentration and reverie. The author deliberately simplifies the facial features and softens the lines, avoiding excessive detailing.

The work seems to invite the viewer to stop and look up: the way one does in childhood, when one dreams without limits. The figure becomes the embodiment of that “inner child” who retains the ability to wonder, trust, and be inspired by the world.

"Looking at the Sky" appeals to silence and concentration, reminding us of the value of the present moment. The work seems to ask: "When was the last time you stopped to just look at the sky?" The sculpture encourages us to remember our childhood dreams, find inner harmony, and re-feel our connection with ourselves and the world.
