“Buba”

Bohdan Korzh's sculpture "Bub" depicts an American bulldog of the classic Johnson type — a breed known for its strong build, large size, and protective qualities.

The image is based on a real dog that lived in the "Derenivska Kupel" and was a kind of mascot of the complex. The master conveyed attentiveness and kindness, strength and endurance in the sculpture, thanks to which the sculpture conveys the qualities of a faithful guard and companion.

The work on the work included a detailed study of nature, the creation of a plasticine sketch and subsequent bronze casting. In 2013, the 300-kilogram sculpture was installed near the Erdeli Hotel, where it symbolically “continues” to guard its territory.

Visitors often stop by to touch the bronze ear, considering it a sign of good luck.
