“Bliznytsia”

audio guide

The sculpture "Twin" by Bohdan Korzh is a monumental stone head with a gaze directed towards the heights. The name refers us to the mountain of the same name in the Svydovetskyi Range with a twin peak.

It resembles natural blocks carved over the years by winds, rains, and time. The composition is balanced and centered.

The "twin" form of Blyznytsia is associated in folk beliefs with parity, brotherhood, and protection. In this sense, the sculpture resembles an idea from Ukrainian mythology: the soul of a fallen warrior turning into a rock or mountain, never to leave his native land.

Together with "Petros", the sculpture forms a unique sculptural ensemble that reinterprets the Carpathian landscape. They appear like mountains silently contemplating eternity.
